Biography

It's believed that Susannah was born around 1732. She was the daughter of Henry Bunch.[1]

She was married to Lazarus Summerlin and they had these known children.[2]

  1. Jacob
  2. Henry
  3. John
  4. James

The exact year isn't known but the family left North Carolina and moved to South Carolina.[3][4] By 1810 it's believed she is a widow back living in Bertie County, North Carolina.[5] It's believed she passed away there around 1816.[6]

Still looking for information on: John William Bunch (parents, siblings). Son, Claud B Bunch or Claud B Avants was born in 1896. John married Polly Avants in 1897. He died in 1900, as did his infant son, John, born that same year. Polly died in 1978 at Tuttle, Okla.

I have been told that John William Bunch was a U. S. Marshall in Oklahoma Territory or a Texas Ranger. Have not been able to find any information on his ancestry.

Thank you for this. I've seen this before on other sites. I wish there was a source to prove it. WT rules state that we aren't to use other family trees unless there is a source. What we've been doing with the Bunch family is following the document put out by the professional genealogists that were hired by Ancestry.com when Barack Obama became president. If you ever seen anything about her mom with a source please let us know. Thanks again - Lucy

Bunch-514 and Bunch-821 appear to represent the same person because: After doing research it appears that they are in fact the same person.

Bunch-514 and Bunch-821 do not represent the same person because: Thanks for the idea. This family is extremely confusing. There are two Henry Bunch's around the same date with different wives but children of the same name. There aren't sources on either profile & the birth difference is off by as much as 40 years. I'd like to see if the husband is accurate before I merge. I will make a note to work on my profile & will keep this suggestion. If all goes well Thursday I'll get to work on it ASAP. I'd like to wait to merge until then. It will be easier this way.

Thanks very much for bringing this to my attention.

Take care, Lucy

Bunch-514 and Bunch-821 appear to represent the same person because: Same person; Susanna's husband Lazarus has a few spellings of his last name. Summerlin, Summerall
