Biography

George was born in 1893, the son of Isaac Leslie Bunker and Georgia Jewett. [1]

After his mother, Georgia, died he was raised by his aunt and uncle (Georgia's sister Ardelia May Jewett and her husband, Edward John Paxton). His family name was changed from Bunker to Paxton. [2]

George married Ruth Bradshaw, daughter of Thomas Eugene Bradshaw and Mary Lilian Warring, July 6, 1914 in Vancouver, Washington.

They had one son, Jack Leslie Paxton who married Dolly Dodds.

He passed away April 10, 1917. Cause of death: Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB or Consumption). (The BCG vaccine was first used on humans in 1921 in France, but received widespread acceptance in the US, Great Britain, and Germany only after World War II).

Burial: Greenwood Hills Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. Plot: Section 6 Lot 30 Grave 3.[3]
