Biography

John was born about 1754 in Little Compton, Newport, Rhode Island. He was the son of Benjamin Burgess and Hannah (Church) Burgess.

He married first Mary Sanford in 1774 Newport, West Hants, Hants, Nova Scotia.

He married second Annie Anthony in 1787.

He died on 20 Feb 1843 in Newport, Hants Co., Nova Scotia.
