AUGUSTUS MARSHALL BURKETT - This information is from the Lexington Progress 11 Dec 1914 concerning the death of Gus Burkett. "J. H. Gibson informed us on Thursday of last week, just a little late for publication, of the death of his uncle, A. M. Burkett, familiarly known as Gus. Death occurred at Gus' home near Greenbrier, AR on 28 Oct 1914. Gus Burkett was a resident of Henderson County many years ago; he was the son of Thomas Burkett who moved to TN, first stopping in Middle TN and later coming to this county and settling at Haley's Creek. "Uncle Gus" was the last one of eight brothers and three sisters to die." Source: Michelle Moore & The Lexington Progress Tennessee (Son of Thomas & Sarah (Young) Burkett)
