Several discrepancies found between the Bios, published histories and published court records, which may account for date discrepancies. No original source records have been located to confirm birth or marriage records. It appears that some erroneous information may have been published, and perhaps republished/reported, making the “actual facts” obscure . These dates need further research/clarification before taken as "fact".
Name
Known as -- Burnside(s), Byrnside(s) ; Jeheu, Jehew, Joshua
Some researchers believe that the three sons may have used both the names of "Burnside and Meadows" interchangeably, but this is also unproven.
Jeheu Burnsides was born about 1794, probably in the area of Greenbrier or Kanawaha VA. He was the son of James Byrnside and Susanna Meadows. [1]
Other than the will, no other definitive information has been located regarding Jehue (Joshua) Burnside. At age 20, he would be about right age for war of 1812 . [2] The Civil War was fought from April 1861 to April 1865. If alive, he would have been about 67 at that time.
