Biography

Sarah Ann Burris, b. 30 Sept., 1753; d. 15 Dec, 1830; Married in 1768, to Rev. Andrew Tribble (b. 22 Mar., 1741 ; d. 30 Dec, 1822), a native of Orange Co., Va. He was a Baptist; preached at a little church near Montice Uo, and was a personal friend of Thomas Jefferson. They moved to Kentucky., in 1785.

Nancy Tribble who married 1739, David Chenault (b. 30 Sept., 1771 in Albermarle Co., Va.; d. 9 May, 1851 in Ky.). "He joined the Baptist Church at Mt. Nebo, in Madison Co., Ky., about two miles northeast of Richmond, on a prong of Otter Creek, in 1795, and was baptised by Elder Peter Woods.

He was for twenty years a Justice of the Peace of the County, an extensive farmer, and accumulated a considerable fortune. For a period of more than fifty years, he served four churches as pastor, preaching much through the mountains of Ky., even down to old age." (W. H. The will of Thomas Burris was probated March 1789, in Orange Co., Va. In it he bequeathed to his daughter, Sarah Ann Tribble, one negro girl named Agnes, and all her increase; also one feather bed and furniture.

Burrus-81 and Burris-1127 appear to represent the same person because: Spelling is off but the spelling changes depending who transcribed the record. I created Sarah Ann but did not find the duplicate untill I tried to create Andrew, Duplicate found, and then I realized that Sarah Ann was also a duplicate. Need to be merged.
