William Allen Burton died in 1773.[1] He is buried in an unmarked grave in Cumberland County, Virginia.[2]
The Will of William Allen Burton of Cumberland County, Virginia was signed on March 26, 1767. The will was probated on March 22, 1773. A brief synopsis of the will follows:
My son Walthall to receive 250 acres in Cumberland County, Virginia. Son Walthall was not of age in 1767.
My son William Allen Burton to receive 250 acres.
Wife Mary to receive the plantation at "Deer pons" for use during her life.
My son David to receive plantation after death of his mother plus lot and houses in Chesterfield County, Virginia in Gatavil Town.
Divide all my "pursen" estate among my 5 children and wife.
He mentions his 2 "darters, but they are unnamed.
Executors: wife and Obey Smith.
Witnesses: John Price, William Perkinson, Phillip Yates Jobson.
