Frank was born on the 9th of July 1927, in Rawlins, Carbon, Wyoming. He was the son of Frank Butler and Margret Thomas.

Growing up in Rawlins, most people usually got a nickname, and Frank was called "Soapy." He was named that because he would whittle on soap and keep small pieces in his pocket, then offer it to the kids as candy!

He served in US Navy, F1 World War II. F1 -- Commander-in-Chief, Plans Division (USN).

He married Billie Marie Canfield Vaskey 1927–1992. [1]

They had three children,

Constance L Butler 1947
Veronica Jane Butler 1948–1985
Thomas A Butler 1950–2014

He passed away 6 Feb 2007, and is buried in Riverside National Cemetery Riverside, Riverside County, California, USA.
