Pleasant Bybee was born in 1758 in Fluvanna, Colony of Virginia, son of David Bybee (1736–1816) and Nancy Ann Vaughn (1742–1820).^[1]

Pleasant (30) married Mildred Priddy (29) (born on November 23, 1759; daughter of Jane Jean (Hunter) Priddy) on September 3, 1789. Their children were:
