Peter Thomas Byrd was born May 03, 1872 and died August 31, 1932.[1][2]
He married Emma Jane Edwards, daughter of Joseph Edwards and Mary Fairey. She was born June 26, 1872 and died December 18, 1932.[3][4][5][6]
Peter was a conductor on the Southern Railroad. Also he and Andrew Nathaniel Byrd were partners in a cotton gin. Peter and his wife, Emma Jane Edwards were married Feb. 14, 1894 at Branchville, South Carolina. They are buried at Sardis Methodist Church Cemetery, Branchville. An infant son, an infant daughter, a child, Thomas E. Byrd, a married daughter, Lilly Mae Byrd James, and a granddaughter, Silver Mae James are also buried in their plot, with the plot of their daughter Myrtle Lee Byrd Huckabee ( my mother ) adjoining.[7]
