This daughter of Emma Jane Edwards and Peter Thomas Byrd buried at the Joseph A. Edwards Cemetery near Branchville, Orangeburg County, South Carolina. This cemetery was established by her grandfather when his infant daughter died in 1881 and was located just forty feet from the earlier graves of Frederick Syfrett and his wife, Elizabeth Dukes. Little Marion's grave is outside of the decorative iron fence surrounding the Edwards Cemetery. This fence was probably erected some years after 1896 at a time when Marion's parents may have planned to move her grave to Sardis Methodist Church at Branchville, Several of her siblings buried at Sardis joined there later by her parents.

Personal knowledge is given by Emma Myrtle Lee Byrd, my mother, a sister of Marion Byrd.
