NC as "James Callaham", age 38, with the following household (in this order), Josiah, age 4; Sarah, age 25; Mary, age 11; Nancy, age 7, & Dorcas, age 2. In 1860 James and Sarah were residing in Madison Co. NC. The household contained the following: James, age 48; Sarah, age 38; Polly, age, 20; Nancy, age 16; Darcus, age 10; Jacob, age 8; Mary A., age 5, and Malinda, age 1. In 1870 the family continued to reside in Madison Co. NC. The household contained James, age 56; Sarah, age 48; Polly Ann, age 25; Darcus, age 21; Jacob, age 18; Lundy, age 15; Stacy, age 11, and James age 7. In 1880, James Callahan, age 68, was residing in Madison Co. NC with his wife, Sallie, age 58, a son, James, age 18, and a grandson, Melvin, age 8. Living next to James Callahan in 1880 was a James J. ? Callahan, age 23, his wife, Dorcas, age 19 and their daughter, Nancy, age 10/12.
