Biography

Liza Ann was born on July 25, 1845 in Greene County, Pennsylvania. She passed away in 1932 in Roane County, WV. ^[1]

There is no official documentation or source listing her parents name except for her Death Certificate that lists "Calvert" for mother.

Birth Rumors

There are some that believe that Liza Ann is the illegimate daughter of Lord Baltimore Calvert of Maryland. I have found no evidence to support this claim. Her Death Certificate only lists the last name, "Calvert," for her mother. No father is listed. ^[2]

Liza Ann's entry in the Roane County, WV Death Register lists her birth in Pennsylvania and her mother's birth as Kentucky. There are no names listed as parents. ^[3]

It is known that her mother moved to West Virginia with Liza Ann and David Santee.

1930 Census

Liza Ann lists that both her parents were born in Pennsylvania as well as herself. ^[4]

1920 Census

Liza Ann lists that her father was born in France and mother was born in Kentucky. She lists herself as being born in Pennsylvania. ^[5]

1910 Census

Liza Ann lists that both her parents were born in West Virginia. This is highly suspected as incorrect since Liza Ann was born in Pennsylvania and traveled to WV with her first husband. ^[6]

1900 Census

Liza Ann lists that both her parents were born in West Virginia as well as herself. This is highly suspected as incorrect since Liza Ann was born in Pennsylvania and traveled to WV with her first husband. ^[7]

Marriages

David Santee married Liza Ann Calvert about 1868 in Pennsylvania. (Source Needed). David passed away in 1879 in Roane County, WV.

Abram Lance married Liza Ann Santee on October 5, 1899 in Roane County, WV. ^[8]

Death and Burial

Liza Ann passed away on October 5, 1932 in Spencer, WV. She was 82 years old. ^[9]

She was buried on October 6, 1932 in the Swank Cemetery in Roane County, WV. ^[10]

Note: Liza Ann was buried next to her first husband: David Santee. It can be confusing that she was buried with a gravestone of "Santee."
