James (~26) married Charity Ann Spangler (27) (born in Pennsylvania on 17 Mar 1757; died in Wolf Creek, Tazewell, Wythe, Virginia on 29 Apr 1855), daughter of Peter Spengler and Mary Margaret Moser, on 20 Jul 1784 in Thompson Valley, Wythe County, Virginia.
At some point, the family moved to Floyd County, Kentucky.
In September 1832, James Cameron (74) applied for this military pension in the Floyd County Court.[1][2]
Some facts from his testimony:
Served in the Western Battalion
Lived in Shenandoah, VA when he entered the service
Escaped an attack from the Native Americans near Fort Pitt (Pennsylvania)
Moved to Louisville (Falls of Ohio) where George Rogers Clark was and stayed until end of war.
After discharged, he took the Kentucky Trail home passing through Sanford and Tazewell, VA.
He received $80 year starting March 1834.
