Stephen was born in 1771. He is the son of Thomas Camp and Margaret Carney. He married Anne Alexander in 1804 in Rutherford County, NC. He passed away in 1846. [1]
It is said that Stephen Camp accompanied his older brothers to the Battle of Cowpens. He was only 11 or 12. He held their horses while they advanced to get a shot at the enemy. He was shot while holding the horses and suffered from the injury the rest of his life.
