I am doubtful of the claim that he died in NY in 1897. There is a Talcott Hale Camp, 1816 NY- 1897 NY on FindAGrave (46994483), who I believe is confused with our Talcott Camp, who is not listed on FindAGrave. Marking death data as Uncertain.

I cannot find any sourced records for Talcott Camp. Looked on Ancestry, Familysearch, and FindAGrave.
