John Cannon lived on a plantation which he mentions in his will. He also had property called Todd's Place,[3] which joined the land he lived on.[2]
In 1770 John purchased 200 acres of land on Long Creek from John & Elizabeth Mitchel[4]
On 15 Jul 1778 John purchased 120 acres on Sugar Creek from John Todd Jr. for £92.[3]
A state grant, #1202, was recorded for 184 acres on Long Creek on 9 Jul 1794, after John's death. Was this John's land grant and hadn't been recorded until he died, possibly so it could be transferred?[5]

Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
The children's birthplaces are all over per their profiles: first 2 in South Carolina, 1 in Pennsylvania, 1 in New France (Louisiana territory), and 1 in Mecklenburg, NC. Any sense for how much this profile traveled? From his marriage place & death place being the same it looks as though this John just stayed put in Mecklenburg. There are plenty of John Cannons out there -- perhaps some of these children belong to different parents?
