Mary Frances (Carroll) Van Meter, age 98, of Franklin, Indiana, died Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was born April 23, 1906, in Grayson County, the daughter of Willie and Eura (Meridith) Carroll. She retired from Arvin North American Automotive in Franklin, after 26 years. She was a Charter Member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin, and she attended Young's Creek Baptist Church in Franklin. / She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Van Meter; three daughters, Lois Van Meter, Dorothy Decker, Currie Van Meter; five sons, Darrell, Donald, Delmar, Dolphus, and Rev. Doyle Van Meter; her parents; three brothers; one sister; three grandchildren and one great-grandson. / She is survived by her sister, Lona Carroll of Brownsville, KY; 18 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 66 great-great-grandchildren, and four great-great-great-grandchildren. / Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home in Franklin with Rev. Glenn Yaden officiating. Burial was in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
