Mary Elizabeth Carter was born on October 15, 1868 in Appling, Georgia, United States, daughter of David Jefferson Carter (1834–1912) and Lucretia Henderson (1845–1926).[1]
Bettie (22) married John Mason Barber (22) (born on November 9, 1868 in Appling County, Georgia; son of Cornelius Barber and Harriett (Altman) Barber) about 1891. Their children were:
