Biography

John was born in 1840. His parents were Stephen Cartwright and Mahala Tharp.

In 1850 he was living with his parents and nine siblings in Ohio. [1]

In 1860 he was 20 and living with his parents and six siblings in Ohio. [2]

He married Martha Lenhart in 1864. [3] They resided in Pandora, Ohio.

They had five children: [4]

  1. Anna b 24 Jun 1866
  2. Cora E b 12 Apr 1868
  3. William Otis b 4 Apr 1870
  4. James Horner b 3 Mar 1872
  5. Harry Wilbur b 3 Dec 1873.

In 1870 they were living in Ohio with 3 young children: Anna, Cora and Otis. [5]

In 1875 they were living in Kansas with Anna and Harry. [6]

In 1880 John and his wife Martha were living in Ohio. They have two children: Annie and Harry. [7]

Their son Harry Wilbur married in 1908. [8]

In 1910 they were both in their seventies. They are living in Ohio and their grandson Bruce Cartright is living with them. [9]

He passed in 1920. [10]

He was buried in Clymer Cemetery, Mount Cory, Ohio. [11]

Their son Harry married again in 1922. [12]
