Biography

Ann was born about 1600. She passed away about 1668.

The Visitation of Hertfordshire says Ann daughter of John Cary and Marian Hyde married one Lovell.[2]

Research Notes

The following is placed here because the data and conclusions appear to be inconsistent and incongruent with the flow and placement of this profile, without any conclusions drawn on where this Ann Carey's origins or descendants - or marriages or unions - fit in genealogy.

It should be noted, however, that the daughter, Clare Daniel, that is attached has a history consistent with being a daughter of Roger Daniell or Daniel IV and Ann Cary (ca. 1590-1658).

In Colonial Granville and Its People, Worth Ray[3] shows the marriage of Darby Daniel to Ann Cary. This Ann Cary was thought to be the daughter of Miles Cary and Ann Taylor. She was called by her maiden name in her father's will of 10 Jun 1667. Most Cary family researchers do not show a spouse for Ann Cary, the daughter of Miles Cary and Ann Taylor. LDS has submission for the marriage with one son, James Daniel, shown as the only child. The records give a marriage date of about 1668 for Darby Daniel and Ann Cary, but the absence of a record and her surname never changing suggests that Darby may have never married Ann Cary. (What evidence did Worth S Ray have? From the Daniel-Smith Family tree, submitted by Jack Danel).

Carey-4437 and Cary-1190 appear to represent the same person because: Except for spelling issues on the last name at birth, they appear to be duplicated.

I think her parents might have been William Cary the Elder, the draper - Mayor of Bristol (ca. 1550-1633) and Alice Elizabeth Goodale (ca. 1556-1623).

The Ann Carey, daughter of John married a Lovell, but also did not have any children. The profiles seem to be a bit mixed, here.

Is there any evidence that Anne daughter of John and Mary Cary is the same person as went to Virginia. Visitations says she married one Lovell.
