Biagio Castro is born and baptized on 2 February 1836. He is the son of Luciano Castro and Vincenza Sciortino.His godparents are Maestro Vito and Francesca Costa, a married couple.[1] Biagio is named after his paternal uncle.
Biagio's father, Luciano, dies at age 51 (reportedly, age 50) on 2 April 1859.
Biagio marries at least twice, first to Salvatrice Gennaro, on 5 April 1869. His mother is living.[2][3]
Biagio and Salvatrice have at least three children: Luciano (1870), Antonina (1872), and Vincenza (1874).
Luciano[4] dies on 15 February 1872 at a year and eight months of age.[5]
In the Church record of the death of Antonina[7], 9 January 1875[8], Salvatrice has passed away.
Biagio remarries, to Giuliana Ferrantello, on 7 February 1875.[9]
Biagio and Giuliana have at least four children: Leoluca (1876), Luciano (1878), Liborio (1887), and Giuseppe (1889).
Leoluca is born 11 September 1876 and baptized the next day as Leonemlucam. His godparents are Paolo Pomilla and Gaetana di Nino, a married couple.[10]
Biagio's mother, Vincenza, dies at age 65 (b. 1811) on 26 November 1876.
Biagio's second son named Luciano is born 9 October 1878 and baptized the next day. His godparents are his uncle and aunt, Mariano and Francesca Paola Castro, brother and sister.[11]
Liborio is born 9 July 1887 and baptized the next day. His godmother is Angela Castro, who is unmarried.[12]
Giuseppe is born 17 August 1889 and baptized 25 August. This record calls his mother "Justina." His godparents are Giuseppe de Luca and Anna Termine.[13]
Biagio dies at age 73 on 30 August 1909. His wife Giuliana survives him.[14]
