Biography

Bernardo Castro is a Corleone native resident, the son of Angelo and Domenica Castro. I estimate he is born around 1684, twenty years before he marries.

Bernardo marries Arcangela Billitti on 7 September 1704.[1]His mother has died by this time.

Bernardo and Arcangela have at least eight children: Giuseppe (c. 1704), Angela (c. 1717), Antonia (c. 1719), Antonino (c. 1720), Domenico (c. 1725), Liboria (c. 1725), Angelo (c. 1730), and Francesca (c. 1733).

Giuseppe is born around 1704, based on his reported age at death.

Antonia is born around 1720, based on her reported age at death.

Angelo is born around 1730, based on his reported age at death.

I estimate that each of their other children are around 20 years old when they marry.

Angela marries Domenico Pennino on 3 February 1737.

Antonia marries Antonio Cammarata (sometimes called Giuseppe Antonio) on 8 February 1739.

Later that year, Giuseppe marries for the first time, to Caterina Majuri, on 7 June. This record calls his mother "Antonia."

Antonino marries twice, first to Maria Puccio, on 14 November 1740.

Domenico marries Rosa Pipia on 16 September 1745.

Liboria marries the same year, on 1 November, to Vincenzo Cardella. Bernardo and Arcangela are both living at this time.

Antonino remarries, to Paola Messina, on 24 September 1752. His father has died by this time.

Francesca marries Giovanni Catalinotto on 11 February 1753. Her mother is living.

Angelo marries Biagia Grizzaffi (called "Rosalia" in this record) on 16 January 1758. Arcangela has died by this time.

Giuseppe remarries, to Anna Maria Lanza, on 7 January 1762.

Giuseppe dies at age 84 (b. 1704) on 25 April 1788.[2] He has outlived both of his wives.

The following month, Antonia dies at age 68 (b. 1720) on 20 May 1788, the widow of Antonino.[3]

Angelo dies at age 68 (b. 1730) on 5 July 1798. His wife, Biagia, survives him.
