The 1911 census lists Ivy at Plymouth, Devon, age 8, born Beal, Northumberland.[2]
In September 1934 her engagement was announced to James Carew O'Gorman Anderson, widower, whose first wife was the novelist Stella Benson and who was the only surviving son of Brigadier-General Sir Francis Anderson of Ballydavid, County Waterford.[3] The marriage never took place and she passed away, unmarried, in 1936.
