Biography

Amelia was born in Vermont in 1800. Her parents were Samuel Chadwick and Elizabeth Pierce Chadwick. She moved with her family to Granville , Ohio. [1]

She married Ransom Clark on June 15th, 1821. They lived at Marysville , Union, Ohio and raised a family, moving after 1850 to Buchanan , Iowa for the remainder of their lives. They farmed and passed the farm down to family for generations.[1]

She appears in the 1850 US Census, living in Marysville, Union, Ohio, with her husband Ranson Clark and four children, all born in Ohio: Ransom (1825), Adeline(1829), Loraine(1831), and Amelia(1835).[2]

Amelia died on September 2, 1878 and is buried at Bethesda Cemetery in Fairfield, Iowa along with her husband. [1]
