DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
Ephraim Chambers and Abraham Shimer are 2 different people. This Maria/Mary was baptized with Ephraim Chambers and Lena Westbrook, daughter of Derrick Westbrook and Catharine Oosterhout. If you notice Maria’s baptism, Derrick is listed as a witness. Our Maria was Baptized in 1755. The Mary born to The Shimers was baptised in 1756. I am happy to make the changes, but the relationships are wrong too.
Lisa, please make any changes that you have sources for. I adopted this profile not knowing anything about it, except that the wife of Gardner (or Garner) Hopkins had to be a direct ancestor to me. Hopkins was the DAR ancestor that my mother and others used for acceptance.
