Biography

Kent (historic flag)
Isabel (Cheney) Pympe was born in Kent, England.

Isabel (Isabella) Cheney is the daughter of Sr. Richard Cheney of Sherland and Margery daughter of Robert Crall and Margarett Peplasham.[1]

Isabel Cheney vx: John Pimp, of whome comes Scott of Kent.

9 October 1438, Kent, Inquisition. William Cheyne, esq, and Alexander Cheyne, esq. gave custody of the manors and advowsons to Isabel Cheyne Pympe and John Wilcotes, esq.. They held these until the majority of the heir, Isabel's husband John Pympe. The inquisition records that the manors and advowsons of West Barming and Otham, manors of East Barming, Read and Loose, plus Nettlestead and Pimp Manors, all descended to John Pympe, brother of Reynold Pympe, and that John was aged 21 or more.[2]

25 June 1440, Plea of Covenant, John Pympe and Isabel his wife were the "deforciants" and William Brounyng' and John Changeton', were the "querents". This concerned the manors and tenements of Nettlestead, Pimpe (in Nettlestead), Brenchley, Horsmonden, Lamberhurst, Yalding, Peckham, West Malling, and East Malling. William Brounyng and John Changeton granted these manors and tenements to John Pympe and Isabel for life.[3]

Isabella and John had one daughter, Margaret.[4]

Isabella died before 1447, Kent, England.
