AMOS Cheuvront (son of Joseph Cheuvront and Elizabeth Elsworth), born April 23, 1794, at Midway, near Good Hope, Virginia, [d. Jan 12, 1873, Portland, Meigs Co., OH], married on Sept. 11, 1819, with his father officiating, Sarah E. Joseph of the Upper Monongahela Valley, b. 1799,[another source says b. Oct 9, 1802, d. Jan. 29, 1892, Portland, Meigs, Co., OH].
From Henckle Genealogy, page 238: "Amos Cheuvront born April 23, 1794 Midway, Virginia (now West Virginia); married September 11, 1819 to Sarah Joseph. The marriage bond was signed by Reverend Joseph Cheuvront. This family removed to Jackson County, Virginia (now West Virginia). No other data."
Their children were: Joseph(4?), Perry, Benjamin(1), John W., Nancy[or Mary] Jane, Cassie, Frances, Sarah W. [and Nathan Cheuvront (s/o Amos Cheuvront and Sarah Joseph) Note: Nathan is not listed in the "Brief History of the Cheuvront Family in America" by John Howard Cheuvront.]
Amos Cheuvront was the ancestor of Charles Hall, the theater man of Parkersburg; of Mrs. George Abels, and of Herman E Cheuvront, all of Parkersburg; Gideon Cheuvront and James L. Cheuvront..[1]
