Marie-Josephte Cholet was born on 18 August 1752 in Pointe-Claire, New, France, daughter of Jacques Cholet dit Laviolette and Antoinette Amable Legault.
Marie-Josephte (20) married Joseph Meloche (22), son of Joseph Marie Meloche and Marguerite Picard, on 22 February 1773 in Pointe-Claire, Montréal, Île-de-Montréal. Their children were:
