She was named Sarah W. Burdine, wife of Clark Burdine, during the 1828 division of her deceased father's estate in Madison County, Virginia. Clark was named as a legatee of Jemima (Clark) Burdine, daughter of Reuben Clark and Bathsheba Sampson, in the 1822 settlement of his grandfather's estate in Madison County.
Sarah was was deceased before the 26 May 1835 date her maternal uncle, Henry Towles, made his will, which named her daughter Mary Laura Elizabeth Burdine.
