"Benjamin Clark served as a private in Capt. Samuel Jordan Capbell's 6th Virginia Regiment, 1777-78. He was born in Virginia and, in 1778, died there."[1]
Benjamin was born sometime before 1766, based on age 45+ on his 1810 census in Madison County, Kentucky.
He passed away sometime between 1820 & 1830 census. Possibly died 15 Aug 1829 in Madison County, Kentucky.
Too many Benjamin Clark:
There were 7 different Benjamin Clark/Clarke who have 1800 taxes in KY.
By 1810, there were 12 different Benjamin Clark/Clarke with census in KY.
It is likely that many of these Benjamins were born in Virginia.
This makes it difficult to determine Benjamin's parents, and Benjamin's wife.
Wife:
It does NOT appear this is the Benjamin who married Frances Ragsdale.
DNA from Ragsdale descendants indicate Frances is wife of the Benjamin in Barren Co., KY
Benjamin was born in 1750. He passed away in 1829.
