Obituary
Mrs. Charlotte CLARK ASHCRAFT HUFFMAN, widow of the late Richard HUFFMAN, died at her home in Taylor Township last Friday, after a short illness.
She was born June 15, 1829, and was at the time of her death 75 years, 11 months and 17 days old.
She was united in marriage to Richard HUFFMAN on Feb. 14, 1851 and to this union were born eleven children—five sons and six daughters—of which three daughters and one son and the father preceded her to the world beyond. Mrs. HUFFMAN also became the foster mother of Clyde SNAPP, of the Guardians Home of Indianapolis. She took him in her care when he was six years old and raised him to manhood. He was here and attended the last sad rites with the family, relatives and hundreds of friends who will mourn her departure.
The only child that was not present at the funeral was Mrs. Mary CHANEY, who resides in Kansas.
Mrs. HUFFMAN had thirty-one grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
At an early age she became a member of the Christian church and remained a consistent member of the church throughout her life. She was a true woman, a kind mother and neighbor.
The funeral was held last Sunday forenoon at the Antioch Church, conducted by Rev. L. F. DRASH, of the Bloomfield Christian Church. Interment in the Antioch Cemetery.[10]
