John A Clark was born on November 17, 1845 in Blount County Tennessee, USA, son of St Clair Clark (~1825–~1865) and Nancy E Davis ( –~1880).

John married Ninnie Coan (born on October 20, 1858 in Vincennes, Indiana; daughter of John Raymond Coan and Margaret (Badollet) Coan). Their daughter was Nina Alexandria Clark (1882–1920).

In 1850, John (4) was living in Raleigh, Saline with his daughter, Nancy (27); his siblings, William S (28), and William E (0); and James L Clark (8), Mary A Clark (6), and Hester J Clark (3). [1]

In 1900, John (54) was living in Forest, Pottawatomie with his children, Minnie (41), and Nina (18); and John A Clark (54), and John St Clair Clark (3). [2]

John died in 1927 in Tecumseh Pottawatomie County Oklahoma, aged 81.[3]
