He was a direct descendant of Sabbath Clark of Tarvin, Cheshire, England (1587 - 1663)and of Sabbath's son Daniel (1622 - 1710). Daniel Clark immigrated from England to Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1639, was a lawyer, Secreatary of the Colony, a judge at some of the "witch trials" and his great grandson, Oliver Wolcott,was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Arunah's parents were Nathaniel Clark (b.8-6-1720)and Martha (Witt) Clark. In 1806, Arunah "led a migration of one third of the population of Granville, Massachusetts, across the Alleghenies to the 'wilderness of Ohio' and started Granville, Ohio." "The trip was by covered wagon and ox team and took 47 days." "Arunah was a strong abolishonist and had a station on the Underground Railroad." Arunah and his wife, Mindwell (Everett) Clark, had the following children: -Anson, 12-29-1796 to 7-19-1877 -Arunah Jr., 1788 to 1840 -Lucy, 1-28-1788 to 3-31-1794 -Strong, 8-26-1792 to 3-23-1874 -Lucy (2nd), b.12-19-1794 -Mena A., 1-18-1799 to 2-27-1877 -Willis G., 2-24-1802 to 3-10-1898 -Marietta, b.7-20-1805 -Alvah, 1-5-1808 to 11-4-1809 -Samuel S., 12-24-1810 to 9-10-1889 -Corintha. 5-8-1813 to 9-28-1884
