Biography

I was born in Phoenix but moved to Ohio when I was three weeks old. My family comes from Ohio. My Dad was a radio man and joined the Coast Guard when I was 4 during the Vietnam war. We moved to Japan and lived there for 3 years then moved back to the states when I was 8. We lived in Carson, California, San Diego, Petaluma and Lakeside California.

I went to San Diego State university and received a degree in English with an Emphasis on Creative Writing.

I married at 21 and lived in La Mesa, California. We moved to Japan from there. We lived in Chiba Prefecture in the town of Shiroi.

I gave birth to my daughter in Japan. We moved back to San Diego after 2 years. We were going to stay longer but things didn't work out.

We moved a few more times. I had my son in Tooele, Utah then divorced my first husband in Washington State.

I met my current husband online. He's Canadian so now I'm in British Columbia.

I have two Grandsons and five step-grandchildren. My daughter and her family live in TX and my son lives in Mt. Vernon, WA and is attending Western Washington University.

I've learned a lot since I joined Wikitree. I love research and am very interested in the 16th and 17th Centuries in England and her Colonies. I just earned my pre-1500 badge and became a Magna Carta Member. I am working on James Claypoole's line back to his Surety Baron ancestors, Hugh and Roger Bigod. In the future I would like to help more on the Quaker Project.

Notes

I have started a Clawson surname project, please join me!

Dear Terri,

since I didn’t see any reaction from your side about the check-in message from May, I assume you don’t want to remain a project member. If I don’t hear from you within the next 14 days, I will then remove your Germany Project badge. If you do not wish for that to happen, please reply to the check-in message below or send me a direct message.

If this message finds you too late, feel free to re-request the badge by replying to our G2G join post.

Kind regards from Black Forest

Dear Germany Project member,

it's annual check-in time 2023. If you still wish to remain a member of the Germany Project, please reply to this post, by stating this intention. If we don’t hear from you in the next 30 days, your membership badge will be removed. In this case please don't be offended ... you're welcome to rejoin at any time. Please also note, that in order to receive help, with researching your German ancestors, membership is not mandatory. Just ask your questions in the G2G forum and tag them with Germany in order for knowledgeable people to see them.

If you wish to remain a member, we would like to learn more about your perception of the Germany Project in order to achieve a future development according to our members needs and wishes. For this, we created a survey, which we kindly ask you to fill-in.

In case you want to communicate, discuss and receive help about WikiTree in German, you might want to check out the WikiTree category at Compgen’s Discourse as well as the German Discord server Ahnenforschung.

Of course there’s still the official WikiTree Discord server, where we usually talk English. Feel free to learn more about Discord and the server at Help:Discord.

Kind regards from Black Forest

Hi!

If you're a member of the Google Group,* then you've heard that the Magna Carta Project has retired the Gateway Guardian initiative. Would you delete or replace your Gateway Guardian sticker please?

WikiTree has two relatively new stickers - Template:Relationship_Sticker and Template:Connection Sticker - that you might want to use if you're related to or connected to the Gateway. There's also the Template:Descendant sticker that you can use. To see tailored coding for these stickers (e.g., with the Magna Carta Project logo), please see Space: Magna Carta Stickers#sticker.

Thanks! Liz

* If you're not and would like to be, please send a request to https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/wikitreemagnacarta (be sure to include your WikiTree ID; the Google Group is no longer "Project members only", but it is restricted to WikiTree members).

As part of an annual check-in of the WikiTree US Presidents Project we are asking members if they are planning to continue their contributions to the project. We are establishing a page where everyone can identify the President or Vice President that they wish to manage. Just respond to this message to let me know 1) Are you planning to continue with the Project and 2) do you have a specific President or Vice President that you are interested in.

My husband is a first America German. His and a lot more people came from Pankata & Old St. Ann which is now in Romania. These people created and maintain the America Hungarian club in Bloomington, Illinois. Someone one the net from there area wrote, "I'm sorry to say they are German" many years ago. Is there any stories or people who know about the German reason to have been in Pankata & Old St. Ann and the story why they all came to Bloomington, Illinois? THANKS Edna Frances Hauptman.

Hi Terri,

Welcome to Wikitree. I saw your name in a recent wikitree feed showing that you also had German Roots. I have a lot from Germany too. And apparently you have a deep ancestral trail all the way back to Europe, like me.

When, I ran your name in the “Relationship finder” in the tools menu, here’s what I discovered: We share 4 interesting common ancestors: one of which is [[Castilla- Fernando Alfónsez (Castilla) de Castilla (1201 - 1252) King of Spain. Wikitree ID: Castilla-105. He’s a distant G-grandfather of yours and mine making us very distant 25th cousins 2x removed.

Be sure to try the relationship finder to explore all the new branches of your ancestry. You can verify each ancestor and their relationship to you when you click on the links to their profiles.

Have fun, John

Congratulations on being Pre-1700 certified.

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many decendants, coordination is essential. Thanks for joining the QUAKERS Project.

Hi Terri

How is it going so far, were the Member How-Tos pages helpful or did they leave you with questions?

Clicking your green tags shows members who follow that tag. Add tags other family surnames, for locations add US_HISTORY The more tags you add the more links to community & research options Information on tags is on page one of the How To pages.

We want to help you learn about the site and the community, hopefully you found the pages and links useful.

Questions click my name & ask in the comment box on my page or post in the G2G Forum (see Help top right of your Profile
