Biography

Sir Jasper Clayton was born in about 1600 in Oakenshaw, Yorkshire, England, son of William Clayton (~1566–~1627) and Margaret Cholmondeley (~1565–1631).

Jasper married Mary Thompson (13) (born before 1610 in Chichester, Sussex, England; daughter of William Thompson) of Tinmouth Castle, Northumberland at St. Faith's, London, May 1, 1624.[1].

He was an alderman of London and knighted at Guild Hall, July 5, 1660.
