When Joseph Clements was born in 1860 in Carcoar, New South Wales, Australia, his father, John, was 38 and his mother, Isabella, was 30.[1]
He married Julia Jane Tanner in 1883 in his hometown. They had seven children in 16 years.
On 21 Nov 1885 he was Indentured as Saddler to WILLIAM HENRY PAUL of Bathurst.[2]
He was a baker for 15 years in Blayney. In 1912 he moved to Sydney with his family.
He died on 24 Jul 1918 at his residence Sylvania, 102 Macaulay Road Stanmore, New South Wales, Australia, at the age of 58 and was buried in Blayney Cemetery.[3][4][5]

↑Daily Telegraph (Sydney, NSW : 1883 - 1930), Thursday 25 July 1918, page 6 Mr. Joseph Clements, of Stanmore, and formerly of Blayney, died at his residence, Mucauley Road, Stanmore, at 3 o'clock yester-day morning. Deceased, who had been ailing for a considerable time, was well known in the Blayney district, where the family and relatives have resided for a number of years. Deceased leaves a widow and three sons and a daughter. The remains were taken to Blayney for Interment last night.

Blayney residents were deeply grieved on Wednesday morning to learn that Mr Joseph Clements had passed away at his residence at Stanmore on the previous night.
The deceased, who was 58 years of age, was a native of Blayney, being the third son of Mr, and Mrs. John Clements, prominent residents in the town's earlier days. Mr. I. J. Cle-ments is an elder brother. By trade be was a saddler, but for many years was in business at Blayney as a baker. About six years ago the family moved to Sydney, where they are still living.
