Biography

Susan Clerke was born in 1834 at Kinsale, Durham, Ontario, Upper Canada. With her husband Caleb Powell they raised eight children. In 1883 father and two sons immigrated to Montana Territory to follow the advertising that land was available and wood products were needed. They settled in Cando, Ramsey County, North Dakota where they made their home. She passed away there in 1910.
