Mary Cobb was born in 1737 to Nathan Cobb and Bethiah Harding Cobb probably in Eastham, Massachusetts.[1] Her father died before 1741 and her mother remarried. Her step-father John Freeman took the family to Gorham, Maine.
In 1757, Mary married Joseph Melcher and they moved to Brunswick, ME.[2] She died in 1825 and was buried with her husband in Maquoit Cemetery in Brunswick, ME.
