Sarah Cody was born in King's County (now County Offaly), Ireland in 1849. She was the daughter of Michael Cody and Ann Cleary. Sarah was baptised on 4 February 1849 in the Parish of Balliboy and Killoughy, Diocese of Meath, County of Offaly (King's). Her Godparents/ Sponsors were John Doyle and Elise Walsh.[1]

Sarah did not migrate with her family to Australia in 1859. It is presumed that she died before this date in King's County, Ireland.
