William Cole is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A024266.

William is considered a Patriot because documents record that he provided Beef and Supplies to Revolutionary Force in the state of Virginia.[1][2]

WILLIAM COLE AND ELEANOR BIBB married ca. 1762 or 1763. The Louisa County, VA land tax books for 1800 as well as two land deeds, dated December 31, 1799 and April 13, 1801, respectively, names Eleanor Cole and her 13 children as "Legaltees of William Cole, deceased". According to the bond given by the administrator of his estate as well as the land tax books, William Cole is shown as having died in 1795. Final settlement on his estate did not occur until 1833. Eleanor Cole was probably living with her son Richard in 1830 as the US Census of that year shows a woman of age between 80 and 90 was living in his household. Their son Samuel married first Charlotte Blanche Harper and second her sister Sarah R. Harper. Also their son John W. married Elizabeth McAllister who was the daughter of William McAllistor.
