No record of the birth of Christopher Cole has been found. He was born about 1718 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Thomas Cole. Some researchers have stated his middle name as Massey and named his mother as Sarah Massey but a reference is needed for his mother.
Christopher purchased a 100 acre tract called Panthers Hills from John Parrish in 1737 and stilled owned this on the 1750 tax assessment. In 1781 his father conveyed a tract called Christoper's Lot to him plus the lease on a tract called Mountain. [1]
Christopher was living in Baltimore County according to the tax assessment ledger of 1762/65. He is also listed along with his son, Christopher and two slaves named Harry & Nell on 18 JUL 1773 as a taxable in the North Hundred of Baltimore County.[2]

Research
The 1790 census for Maryland identifies a Samuel Cole as a son of Christopher.
"Cole Family Document" assembled by The Jefferson County Historical Association lists four Coles (Christopher Jr., Ezekiel, Samuel and Thomas) and six additional Coles (Mordecai, Sarah, Hannah, Elizabeth, John and William) as children of Christopher and Sarah Cole.
There were two other Coles who were in Jefferson County in the early 1800's who could have been sons of Christopher and Sarah: Mordecai Cole , who died in Jefferson County in 1813 and William Cole who married Anna Talbot.
Will of Thomas Cole died 1808 in Jefferson County, Ohio stated that he was a son of Christopher.

Addendum: Since only marriage date given for Thomas to Mary Richardson is 1730, and the marriage does not seem to fit this Thomas Cole, it is probably safe to assume (for now) that Sarah ? is probably Christopher Coles' mother.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Christopher by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Christopher:
Conflict on the maternal parent of this person is preventing an obvious merge with Cole-518. This issue should be resolved by consulting a primary reference source, then detaching the incorrect parent.
Conflict on the maternal parent of this person is preventing an obvious merge with Cole-522. This issue should be resolved by consulting a primary reference source, then detaching the incorrect parent.
Cole-518 and Cole-522 need to be merged. I believe I recently adopted Cole-522 created in 2011; I found a source and am adding children to Sarah Tipton and Christopher Cole son of Thomas Cole and Sarah Massey.
Possibly this is where this Christopher belongs?
