Martha Coleman was born in Barnstable, Barnstable County, (then) Province of Massachusetts Bay, on 04 Mar 1698, the daughter of John and Patience Coleman. She married Capt. John Phinney, Sept. 25, 1718. Together, they had ten children. They were true pioneers and patriots who endured untold hardships.
