Biography
When Walter Rosco Collett was born on April 10, 1904, in Georgia, his father, Stephen, was 31 and his mother, Talitha, was 29. He married Jessie Norrell and they had two children together:
- Betty Ruth (1928–1992)[1]
- Frances (1932–)
Jessie had a child in 1924 with Leonard Lemley who died before the child was born and Walter raised Annie. Jessie died in 1933 and he remarried to Leora Emma Nix sometime after 1940; they had at least four children:
- Carolyn (Collett) Waters
- William Collett
- Tonie Lee (1949–)[2]
- Teresa (Collett) Wofford
He died on July 18, 1966, in Pickens,[3] Georgia, at the age of 62, and was buried in Jasper, Georgia.[4]
