Executor of her husband Nathaniel Abney's estate. His will was dated 1 Jul 1787, proven 15 Jan 1788, and recorded 11 Mar 1788 in Winton County, South Carolina.^[1]

Lucy appears on the 1790 census of Edgefield County, South Carolina with the following household members:

On 26 Mar 1793 Paul and his mother Lucy, of Edgefield County, South Carolina, sold 390 acres of his father, Nathaniel's estate in the 96 district on the Broad River.^[3]

She witnessed a deed of Dannett Abney to his son Samuel on 30 Dec 1809 in Edgefield District, South Carolina.

Dannet Abney to Samuel Abney, Edgefield District, South Carolina

To all to whom these presents shall come that I Dannet Abney of the State and District aforesaid for an in consideration of the love and natural love and affection which I have and do bear towards my loving son Samuel Abney, I have given and granted and by these presents I do give and grant and confirm unto my said son Samuel Abney one tract of land lying all on the lower side of Glade lick Creek the fork of Persimmon Creek being part of 200 acres originally granted to me the said Dannet Abney containing 75 acres be the same more or less as may appear more fully by a plat and grant thereunto annexed which land now being in his actual possession to have and to hold and to enjoy the said tract of land unto the said Samuel Abney his heirs, executors and administrators and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Samuel Abney his heirs executors and administrators and assigns against all wrights and butle? and all persons whatsoever claiming the same or any part thereof shall and will warrant and forever defend the said tract of land by these presents.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this the thirtieth day of December in the year of our Lord 1809 and in the prsents of us as Witnesses test George Deen Sr, test Lucy Abney (her mark)

Memorandum the wright and and priveledge to remain in my hands until my decease and then to revert to my son Samuel Abney his heirs forever. Witness my hand this thirtieth day of Dec 1809.^[4]

Reported as a daughter of one Joseph Collins and Lucy Prisher Marchbanks. Seeking source/documentation for same. Lucy was the executor for her husband Nathaniel's estate. Named a son Paul Collins Abney. Also noted there was a Stephen Collins living near the Abneys, relationship, if any, unknown.
