Deborah Conant was born on 20 Feb 1688 in Beverly, Essex, Massachusetts Bay Colony. She was a daughter of John Conant and Bethiah Mansfield. About 1703, she married John Darby, son of John and Alice Darby, who was born in Marblehead, Massachusetts on October 8, 1681, and was a weaver by trade. John and Deborah settled first in Beverly, where most of their children were born. In about 1720, they moved to Ipswich, and from there to Concord, where John died on March 7, 1753. His name was spelled Darbie in his will, which was dated in 1747. Deborah died in Concord on April 13, 1763. She was a descendant of Roger Conant, the original governor of Cape Ann & Salem[1]
