Hello, Des!

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s VERY important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

If there is a fair possibility of a place of birth or death, I would rather add it than leave it empty. I also mark it as uncertain. I find whole profiles of people with no geographic placement very annoying. I have relatives all over the globe including France, Russia, Vietnam, S Africa, Australia etc

WIkitree states: " almost any location is better than none". It just pulled me up for not inserting a location in a new profile.

Hello Des. I saw you’ve been making lots of little changes to profiles. That’s fine, but it would be better if you could add sources for the information too. Thanks!

Hi Katie, if i could find Sources,I would add them. I make a lot of minor confirmations to connect my family with these cousins and bring attention to their profiles. It also helps me to connect with them later. I am pleased to find so many interesting relations and am preparing for the day when I am no longer able to work on this and another family member can take over.

Regards. Des

Hello Des,

I see that you and I are 10th cousins and share a set of Tyndale grandparents. I have been having a great time trying to connect with other cousins.

Hi Des!

I clicked on the Washington tag and saw where you said you are related to President George Washington. So am I. So, my curiosity was piqued, so I clicked on the relationship finder, had to do the 30 generations options...and, WikiTree says you and I are 15th Cousins. :)

Hi Amanda, I have been studying family history for decades, but only recently found the Washington connection.

George is my 9th cousin's great grandson. Robert Washington born Lancashire, England 1296-1348 is my direct ancestor. Nice to meet you. Most of my American cousins are Holmans and Harrisons. My Grandad John Walsh lived for a while in Massachusetts as a boy, but his family returned to Ireland and then England. I see you have Tennessee relatives. I have a lot of distant cousins who lived there. One of them is Thomas Jefferson buddy Holman born Tennessee 1882 and died 1955. He is on Wikitree. His Dad was a Civil War Vet.
