Biography

Noah was born in 1762 to Robert Cook (UEL) and Martha Tory Skinner.

Just before the War of 1812, Calvin Cook purchased a grist mill on Lyon's Creek in Crowland Townshipand, together with his brother Noah, eventually adding a tannery, a sawmill and a distillery. The place known as Cooks Mills became a prominent community in the township. Noah served in the War of 1812 as a private in Captain Turner's Company, 2nd Lincoln Militia.

Research notes - Agreed that there are issues with the children listed and certainly Jennie born in 1850 could not have been his daughter. I have removed her and will see if I can sort her out. She certainly was not married to Noah's brother, Calvin, who died in 1845. The Masonic symbol at the top of Noah's headstone is an important signifier. To be pursued. Embleton-89.
