OBITUARY: Raleigh Herald - Beckley, West Virginia Thursday June 16, 1910 : Mrs. Sarah Cook died last Wednesday evening at her home at Mabscott after a week's illness with pneumonia. Mrs. Cook was born in Mercer county Oct. 19, 1843 and when quite young her parents moved to White Stick. In 1867 she married George P. Cook who died 4 years ago. Mrs. Cook's christian life is reflected in her exemplary children who are; Ward Cook, the deputy assessor, Mabscott; Mrs. David Cline, Mabscott; and Mrs. Alfred Godbey, Paint Creek. She was interred Monday at the Mt. Tabor grave-yard, the Rev. Laughlin, the pastor of the Mt. Tabor church of which she was a member, conducting the services. There were over four hundred people present from all parts of this county, and the large and beautiful floral offerings were a tribute to her many sterling qualities.
