Biography
John Hamilton Cook was born about April 1694 in Ednam, Roxburghshire, Scotland, son of James Cook (1674 - >1779) and Grace Janet Hamilton (~1682 - ~1750).
John married Elizabeth Eaton (born in Wardington, Oxfordshire, England in 1705; died in Yorkshire, England in 1738), daughter of Benjamin Eaton and Mary Coombs, on 3 June 1721 in Great Ayton, Yorkshire, England[1][2].
Their children were:
- Mary Margaret (Cook) Richmond (~1725 - ~1808)
- Jacob Cook (1725 - 1756)
- Captain Valentine Cook (~1730 - 1798).
John was said to have been baptised in 1736 in England.
John died in 1737 in London, Middlesex, England.
John was the maternal sixth great-grandfather of Joan Crawford.
